To start primary school your child will need to turn five years of age by 30 April of the year that they start school. Your child must be at school in the year that they turn six years of age – this is the compulsory school starting age.
Each year we conduct a comprehensive Transition Program to introduce pre-schoolers to our learning areas and programs in preparation for their start to school. While children participate in the program we provide afternoon tea and an Information/Guest Speaker session for parents.
Details of the 2019 Transition Sessions will be published at the beginning of May 2018.
Moving to a new area and school can be a very stressful time for families and children. We are always pleased to welcome new students and their families into our learning community.
We support students and families during this transition process and ensure that they are given the space and confidence to make new friends. Upwey South Primary School will do everything possible to help your child settle in happily to their new school.
