Located in the Forest Oak building, the Sapling area is a modern, open plan and well-resourced learning space which accommodates three classes of Level 1 and 2. Ms Leahanne Griffiths, Miss Jessica Gemmell-Smith, and Miss Courtney Wood facilitate purposeful and vibrant learning programs that engage students in visual, auditory and kinaesthetic activities. Our student learning is based upon the Victorian Curriculum. Students are encouraged to be resilient, respectful and responsible and we use ‘Circle Time’ and ‘Restorative Practice’ concepts and language to teach this.
Think before you act.
Keep your classroom safe and tidy.
Use good manners to everyone.
Be kind, caring and respectful to everyone.
Try your best at all times and have a go.
Take care of one another.
Treat others the way you want to be treated
Keep your hands and feet to yourself
Use the five finger strategy to solve problems
Learn by making mistakes and never give up
Always show respect to the person who is talking, one voice at a time
Be brave and ‘Shake it Off’ like Taylor Swift
Be responsible with your belongings
Follow instructions the first time and ask for help if you need it
Always spread the kind bug not the mean bug.
We use whole body listening.
We keep our hands to ourselves.
We treat others with respect.
We move around safely.
We keep our classroom tidy.
We take turns to speak
We help each other.
We are kind to each other.
We line up quietly.
We try our best.
We have fun.
